Henry said we'd just do a few 'parade' laps, but as I knew he would, he was soon bombing around. Good circuit, probably about 3 miles long. Professional photographer happened to be there so we may end up featuring in a magazine. Fame.
Afterwards the others went on a 6 hour hike to visit a glacier. I'm told it was spectacular and well worth the trek. Scale of the glacier cannot be seen on photos, but the way it just ended abruptly , as a wall of blue/white ice rather than fading in to snow was dramatic. At the foot of the valley in which the glacier sat was a semi frozen lake. Unfortunately no polar bears. John and the others looked as if they'd had enough when they returned, it clearly wasn't the easy tourist trail they'd been sold. The trek took them the closest to the circle any of us have been.
Last night and tonight we are staying at a little site (Skogly) in cosy little huts. Much better than under canvas. It's not been raining, but the temperature up here is not great.
