The day seemed to be split in to 3. A very long climb up through, at times, a steep sided valley, river tumbling towards us. Across a high, largely featureless, plateau. Then a long sweep down through a wide valley, running with the river to Lillehammer. The last valley we named 'the valley of stupid overtakes' as we saw lots of blind overtakes of lorries and campervans. We saw one car being pulled out of a ditch.
Still all very beautiful, with mirror like fjords reflecting the hillsides and the sky. Although a lot more rolling than sheer the heights reach are still such that there is snow on top.
Campsite by the riverside tonight. I got a little bit of TLC. John checked my tappet clearances as it sounds like they've been hammering away for the last few days. All but one seemed fine, so it is either the higher revs i'm having to do, or it is something else. My idle jet was also blown out to hopefully cure the rough morning starts I've had recently. Too much coughing and farting. Pity the others can't be cured of the same as easily.
Looking forward to what should be a couple of easier days for me.
