Trondheim

Second of the long days on the road. Today I had to drag over 200 miles to Trondheim. Again, back tracking along roads we did a few days ago. Strangely though it didn't feel like the same road as it didn't seem familiar, probably because we were facing the other way. Went past many reflective fjords this morning as the weather was so still, but we passed through many showers this afternoon. Arrived in Trondheim early evening. First for me as we had to deal with a roundabout in a tunnel. Didn't help that the exit we wanted was shut. Still, TomTom kept us on track and took us through pretty streets to our hotel. Hotel that is actually student accommodation let out during summer holidays.

The others went off on to town where they had dinner in an old stage coach station, the equivalent of one of our coaching inns. Everything was on the piss - floors, walls, doors, tables and seats. Beer was very nice though, a local brew, expensive, but nowhere near the highest.

None of them will be getting a visit from Santa this year as they all had reindeer stew. I'm told it had it's own taste, like a less beefy beef. It didn't taste of chicken.

Then a quick tour of Trondheim
Cathedral, Bryggen and castle.

Of all the places in Norway we've been so far I think this is the one I would prefer to live in. Pretty, clean,  open green spaces, wide streets with large traditional houses. hilly but not too hilly. And it just feels like a good relaxing place to live.
