UK leg

Final loading this morning during a violent thunderstorm, but left in the bright sunshine

Met up with my two friends,  Henry and Harriet, plus the other drivers and passengers:- Dave, James, ,Malcolm, Liz and Cassie.

Long trip on motorways, bit of an unintended diversion to Romford as in wrong lane at inevitable roadworks contraflow on M25. That meant we were heading due south for a while,  but we did get a good view on the horizon of The Shard.

We all just sipped fuel, averaging 25mpg, which is unheard of. Henry reckons he got 26.2. I wonder if we'll get similar later in the trip?

Problems? I had a few, rear light dim, and bad connection at fuse - both of which were things John had fiddled with to 'fix'. CB radio also packed up after a few hours.
My passenger complimented me that ride was better than expected.  But she has bought her own fluffy pink cushion.

James decided the annoying whine was coming from Harriet's tyres, not his passenger.

On arrival at hotel, receptionist asked us what we were in Harwich for - clearly there is more here than a ferry port.

Picture shows us at Fleet services. L to R, me, Henry, Harriet.
